According to a report by Raw Story, race car legend Dale Earnhardt Jr. does not share the same feelings as some of the NASCAR owners, who are supporting President Donald Trump’s message against protesters in professional sports.
Several NASCAR owners released statements over the weekend claiming that they would immediately fire any driver that protests during the national anthem. Trump was quick to tweet out his admiration and applause of their threats against protesting.
President Trump wrote on Monday: “So proud of NASCAR and its supporters and fans. They won’t put up with disrespecting our Country or our Flag – they said it loud and clear!”
Earnhardt Jr. also took to Twitter on Monday morning, but had a different message. In a show of support toward the athletes protesting, he posted a message from John F. Kennedy: “All Americans R granted rights 2 peaceful protest. Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable.”
President Trump spent the four consecutive days criticizing NFL players for taking a knee during the national anthem. During a campaign rally in Alabama on Friday, he told the crowd that the player were “sons of b#tches” for protesting.
