ET reports that Julia Louis-Dreyfus announced on Thursday that she has breast cancer and the support has been pouring in on social media.
The 56-year-old 8-time Emmy winner starred in a number of sitcoms including ‘The New Adventures of Old Christine’, ‘VEEP’ and TV classic ‘Seinfeld’.
Seinfeld co-star Jason Alexander took to Twitter on Friday and sent a heartfelt message to his former co-star: “@OfficialJLD, so sorry you have to go thru this, pal, but I know you will prevail. We are here if/when you need and we love you.”
Former Vice President Joe Biden also tweeted a message to the sitcom star, “We Veeps stick together. Jill and I, and all of the Bidens, are with you, Julia.”
The actress posted an open letter on Twitter on Thursday revealing that she has breast cancer.
“One in eight women get breast cancer. Today, I’m the one,” she wrote. “The good news is that I have the most glorious group of supportive and caring family and friends, and fantastic insurance through my union.”
“The bad news is that not all women are so lucky,” she added. “So let’s fight all cancers and make universal healthcare a reality.”
